WEST BEND — The West Bend Creamery, a local frozen custard shop and restaurant at 600 N Main St. in West Bend, announced that the sale of the building was finalized on Jan 6.

The West Bend Creamery — formerly Toucan Custard — was acquired by former owner Andy Naumann in 2023, and was remodeled to become a popular local eatery. Over a year later, in September 2024, the establishment announced it was for sale. Then, on New Year’s Eve, it announced that it had found a buyer. Now, things have come full-circle and it is expected to reopen under new management in 2025.

The establishment put out a statement on New Year’s Eve expressing its excitement about the continuation of the business as well as thanking the community for their support thus far.

“The building has come a long way since Andy acquired it in May of 2023,” said the statement. “He is excited to see how it continues to develop in the hands of someone new.”

The establishment closed following its last day under Naumann’s ownership on Jan. 3 to begin the transition process. However, there has not been an announcement regarding the restaurant’s re-opening yet.
